Echo Malibu

Filed: review

The other day I was watching a show about teens with addiction problems. My heart broke for the parents, especially the ones that were trying everything they knew of to help their kids. I don’t think that if your kid becomes addicted to a drug that it means you are a bad parent. Sometimes in life, people do everything the right way and wrong things still happen. It’s a part of life and I dearly wish addictions weren’t so common. All of the teens went to a place like Teen Rehab ECHO MALIBU. Although, Echo Malibu doesn’t only deal with drug addictions, they deal with alcohol addiction, mental illnesses, and behavioral problems which a lot of teens today have been affected by one of these things whether it was something they themselves did or a close friend. I guess in retrospect, teens as well as adults are basically going through the same things and if we want to help our future, we got to start younger since teens are already affected by the wrong kind of life.

Blergh!

I haven’t posted in a couple of days and I feel like crap for not doing so. I have tons to update on. Well okay, not tons but still, I do have some things to blog about. I’ll do so maybe tomorrow (I haven’t gone to bed yet so in my eyes, it’s still Monday night) and work on my newest theme. I’ve decided to chunk two of my themes, add two more and then in October/November I’ll start a new theme every month instead of using the theme switcher but for now, I’m lazy! Haha. So until next time, later gator.

Stafford loan program

Filed: review

When I first started college, I never really had to worry about financial aid since I had the HOPE grant which paid for all of my tuition fees and gave me money towards my books. Now that I am out of HOPE grant hours and can’t afford to pay tuition on my own, I’m looking into different types of financial aid. I am also looking into transferring colleges to one that has a major for Early Childhood Education. The most important thing about the college I choose is how much their tuition is and if they have a Stafford loan program. Some of you are probably like a Stafford what? A Stafford college loan is handed out by the government and ensures that you have a low interest rate which is very important and a deferred payment plan. What’s the use of taking out a loan for college only to spend the next 10 years out of college paying off all your student loans? That would be ludicrous! A good site to research all kinds of student loans and financial aid options for college is financialaid.com. They also have a scholarship search option which is always helpful since there are tons of scholarships out there that a lot of people don’t know about. So if you or someone you know is looking for financial aid options, direct them to financialaid.com because after browsing the site, I now know what kind of loan I want if I have to take one out when I transfer colleges.

Outrageous!

Filed: daily life

I just called the doctor’s office to see how much a doctor’s visit was since I just now started getting dressed. He, I’m being lazy today if you can’t tell. A doctor’s visit is $90 for a new patient. Holy hell. Thank God my mom is paying and not me. I wish we had somewhere around here that was affordable and worth it because we have a clinic for non-insurance people called MediQuick but honestly, they suck. The dude took me off my thyroid medicine and I ballooned out and had all kinds of other issues so I am not going back there again. So I guess $90 doctor visit here I come. Pfffft. How much is a doctor’s visit where you are from??

Paradise ala Kate

Filed: review

I have been searching online for some new bedding for my bed. I know it seems like such an easy and simple task but not for me. I am going to paint my room and install hardwood floors so I want my bedding to reflect how I want my room to look and to reflect my personality. I know, call me crazy but I think redoing my room is officially claiming it as mine and moving on from the “sharing my bedroom” with C. So it’s like goodbye Kate and C’s room and hello the sanctuary ala Kate. So I was thinking of getting something with light earth tones; maybe a sage green but way lighter. I might just say let’s get a duvet cover so I can change it out more frequently and get a simple bed skirt that matches all of my duvet covers. I know, I’m putting a lot of thought into this but shouldn’t your room be your own paradise, the place where you go to get away from everything? I guess that’s what my room is for me and I want my space to be soothing and comfortable, a place where I can relax and unwind from the day!
