My mom sent me online for some research of maybe a style/finish of the bathroom faucet I was interested in getting for our bathroom per my brother’s suggestion and we came across Franke sinks. Those who have heard of them are probably like, but Kate, those are kitchen sinks. I know that but a new kitchen sink was another thing she was interested in. She just wants to make little improvements to our household while we have the money. Heck, once I get a job, I plan on adding some money to my mom’s “House Fix-Up Fund” because my mother has always helped me out, why not help her out? So far this is our plan:
• Some roof shingles need to be re-attached
• New paint in the bathrooms
• Living room carpet replaced and living room walls repainted
• My room converted to hardwood floors, closet re-organized with new shelving, and new paint.
• Beth & Selena’s room needs new paint
• My mom’s room needs new carpeting and paint. Also, her French door needs to be replaced.
• In the kitchen, we need to take out all wallpaper, paint the walls, re-do the countertops, and re-do the floors. She’s also looking at a new sink.
As you can see, we have quite a list but I know we can get it all accomplished. If there is one good thing about my family it’s the fact that once we set our minds to something, it gets done!!
Not sure if any of you caught my blog the other day on my mother getting into full swing of spring fever and wanting to fix up the house, but now she has joined forces with my brother. My brother is here sitting outside in our swing talking to my mother about what all she wants to get done around the house. She’s made a list and it is quite a list. There are a few small things that she wants to do like fixing up our bathroom in the hallway. It is very dark and very depressing. My brother suggested us going to look at bathroom faucets and maybe picking a style and then changing counter tops as well as some new paint and it should look ten times better. So I guess Home Depot better get used to us being in there looking for hours upon hours because choosing paint is a big deal, at least it is for my mom.
I really don’t have a lot of time to blog but I thought I’d put something up since I haven’t in the past few days. The boyfriend is in Ohio and I’m unsure if he’ll be back tomorrow or Thursday. Oh man, I never knew I could miss someone so much. I miss him ten times more since we talk every night but haven’t since he hasn’t been at home. I really needed him the other day because of this big explosion between me and my best friend. I’ll post about that later, probably password protected because I don’t want a big audience. Some things are personal, ya know?
Not much has happened the past few days. Last time the boyfriend was here we went to Wal-Mart with my mom. My mom has been talking about how she wanted a Wii but no one around here had one. Low and behold we were going to buy a Playstation 2 so we would have some sort of newer game system (I had one but asshole ex took it with him!) and Wal-Mart had Wii’s. Turns out the day before they had received 24 and only had about 10 left. Wow. We also got some outdoor furniture. My mom has wanted a table, chairs, and umbrella for as long as I can remember but never saw a set she liked but she did that day. She also bought a new swing. I love sitting in the swing in the afternoons watching the sunset so I was really happy about the swing.
Well, I have to go hop in the shower. We’re taking my cousin to the dentist. Until next time, later gators.
Now that spring is officially on its way, my mom has already started making lists upon lists of things to get for our yard and plants she plans on planting to freshen up our yard. Believe it or not, I actually like planting flowers. She decided to see if we had a local TruGreen ChemLawn Service but unfortunately we don’t. My step-dad usually takes care of any lawn care needs but my mom has decided she wants to get new Bermuda grass and have it professionally taken care of.
See, we’ve had our grass since we re-built our house back in 1994, but someone completely screwed up our lawn by trying to use weed killer on it which in return damaged all of our grass. Our grass wasn’t cheap either which ticks my mom off even more. Since the whole weed killer incident which happened back in 1999, we’ve tried everything to revive our grass but unfortunately since both of our neighbors have regular grass, it has started to take over our yard and kill out the Bermuda completely. Hopefully we can find a local service or remedy to help our grass instead of completely having to have it redone.
Well, I’m up early considering I didn’t go to bed until the wee hours of the morning. I stayed up talking on the phone and watching TV. Got to love the phone. So why am I up? Well for one I called my babe before he went into work at 11 and I got to run to take my mom somewhere.
We have to go to this medical supply store. Medical supplies as in shower chairs, sleep apnea machines, and things of that nature. My mom does have sleep apnea and every three months I believe, insurance pays for her to get a new mask. If you don’t know anyone that has the condition and doesn’t use the machine, seeing them in the middle of the night hooked up is kind of scary. I’m already scared of the dark as it is but coming into my mom’s dark room and seeing her in some kind of mask thing is almost nightmarish but as long as my mom is breathing properly throughout the night, that’s all that matters! In fact, she doesn’t have to use it nearly as much as she did before which I am very happy about. I depend on my mom for a lot of things so knowing she’s okay and safe means a lot to me.
Well, got to run! Later gators! And for the record, I love this theme!
