Well, I thought I was going to leave but I guess not. I’m waiting on my mom to finish getting ready. I was looking for my cross necklace in my mom’s jewelry box when I noticed that me and my mom really don’t go for the same type of jewelry. My stuff is all edgy and silver but she is a big fan of gold jewelry. For some reason, gold never looks good on me. Maybe it’s my skin tone? Who really knows! I just wish she’d hurry. I’m ready to get my errands over with already!!

When it comes to my musical taste, I am influenced greatly by what my mom likes since that is what I grew up listening to. Luckily, my mother has a very diverse musical repertoire. I grew up listening to everything from Clearance Clearwater Revival, Stevie Knicks, Otis Redding, to Cher. Yes, my mother has a soft spot in her heart for the oldies so she was elated when she received an e-mail from one of her friends this morning.

See, for a while now, my mom has been desperately wanting to go on an all girly vacation. Well this morning, her friend e-mailed her to talk about a trip to Las Vegas which I think my mom could really use the down time to relax and just have a little fun. My mom never kicks back and puts her feet up because she’s always scrambling around worrying about all of us instead of herself. The trip would obviously include a trip to various casinos but the real kicker is to go see Cher who will be performing in a new show coming to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Evidently she will be replacing Celine Dion which my mom would have loved to see her as well but I’m sorry in my mom’s opinion Cher takes the cake. So watch out Celine! Lol. So now, I have to look up Cher tickets Las Vegas to try to see when exactly they will be able to go. The show is set to start in May of 2008 which gives my mom and her friend adequate time to prepare for the trip and tie up any loose ends before they leave.

I cannot tell you how excited I am for my mom. She really needs a vacation and I am definitely making sure they both book them a day at a spa! Mom could seriously use it!!

My mom and I seriously had the best of intentions for today. We planned on waking up all bright and early to get things done early instead of procrastinating all day. Well, it is now 1:30 PM and here I sit in my pajamas still holding strong to those intentions. I don’t know what is our deal lately. I think it’s this whole period thing. When I get up and walk around I can’t stand the feeling of my legs rubbing together and just, yuck!

My poor mom, she has a light cold, a migraine, and of course her normal back problems. I swear, my family is going in a funk. I on the other hand feel great aside from the whole period thing but that I can deal with until Friday thankfully. I just know I could be a lot worse, ya know?

Every Sunday night I watch Extreme Home Makeover and it is very humbling. I bitch and complain about my problems and then see families who have it a lot worse and I am so thankful. I am really thankful for my mom because it’s all her that is the reason we survived those harsh months when we had no money coming in and it’s because of her we still have our house. Yes, our house that was built custom for us. I think my mom is the reason that I have the motivation to go to nursing school so I can follow in her footsteps. I spent so much time trying to not be like her because of her wreck I thought it’d depress her with me taking classes in the one thing she loved and couldn’t do anymore but now I think it’d be fun for her to get to tutor me! So we’ll see how that goes.

Well, time to go get some stuff done. I guess if we’re not going off today as planned I can at least get some cleaning done with the litter boxes and put some laundry in. Later ya’ll.

Well, my mom has finally announced she is serious about getting a new couch. We got our couch a while back and it’s expensive as ever but it came with a lifetime warranty so my mom didn’t feel so bad about shelling out over 2 grand for a sofa. Well, since then, the furniture store closed so guess what!? No more lifetime warranty or store to get our couch fixed at. So now my mom has decided to just go to Big Lots and get a sofa. They have sofas and love seats for like $700. My mom plans on buying one until the kids are older when she’ll buy a new couch of her dreams. Lol. My mom has her future living room all picked out but now she’s deciding how to make the living room now that she’s getting a different sofa. So we’ll see how this goes. I’m just happy for her because she’s wanted to get a new sofa for a while now. Woohoo, go mommy!
